Planning Commission meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. for pre-session and 7:00 p.m. meeting in the lower Board Room at Township Hall. It holds hearings when appropriate and reviews development plans and makes recommendations to the Township Board with regards to zone changes, special uses, and zoning ordinance amendments. The Commission consists of seven (7) members who are appointed by the Township Supervisor subject to approval by a majority vote of the members for the Township Board. An appointment to this Commission is a three (3) year term.
Zoning Board of Appeals meets as needed, usually on a Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in the lower level Board Room at Township Hall. It holds meetings for hearings and takes action regarding requested variances to the zoning ordinance and appeals. This Board consists of five (5) members and one (1) alternate whom are appointed by a majority vote of the Township Board. An appointment to this Board is a four (4) year term.
Parks & Recreation Committee meets the 1st Monday of each calendar quarter in the lower level Board at Township Hall. Their purpose is to promote community parks and provide increasing recreational opportunities. This committee consists of nine (9) members, six (6) appointed by the Township Board based on the Township Supervisor’s recommendation and three (3) officials, Community Development Official, a Representative from Department of Public Works and a Representative from the Planning Commission. An appointment to this Committee is a two (2) year term.
Board of Review meetings take place at Township Hall and are set by State Statutes in March, July and December to hear protests of assessed and/or taxable values of real and personal property, to assure that all non-exempt property has been assessed at 50% of the true cash value and uniformly assessed with other properties in the classification and to correct clerical errors and omissions. This Board consists of three (3) members and one (1) alternate and who appointed by the Township Board based on the Township Supervisor’s recommendation for a two (2) year term.
